Loway Manufacturing

Inside the Loway Factory — Where Solid–Liquid Separation Equipment Is Built

Filter presses, belt presses, screw presses, screening systems and the plates, cloths and consumables that go with them are all built and tested under one roof — in our own factory. This page walks you through the workshop, the equipment we run, and what we hand over to a buyer before a machine is allowed onto a truck.

Why buyers come to our factory

One factory, one accountable partner

We design and build the full range of solid–liquid separation equipment ourselves. Pre-treatment (channel grinders, rotary drum and bar screens), dewatering (filter presses, belt presses, screw presses), and the consumables that go with them (filter plates, filter cloths) all share the same engineering team, the same QA system and the same dispatch bay — so when something goes wrong in the field, you call the people who built it.

Metalworking & welding

Robotic welding for the seams that matter most

Whatever the machine type — a filter press beam, a screw press shaft, a belt press frame or a rotary drum housing — the parts that carry working pressure or bending moment get welded on the same rigs. We run an automated welding cell on those long seams, and certified senior welders on everything else.

  • Certified welding. Structural welds are done by senior welders certified to AWS / EN ISO standards, not by general labour.
  • Robotic welding cell. Long filter press beams, screw press shafts and rotary drum shells go through the automated cell for consistent penetration on every pass.
  • NDT on critical seams. Welds that carry pressure are visually inspected and, where specified, Magnetic-Particle or Ultrasonic tested before assembly.
  • Dimensional check. Beams are checked for flatness and parallelism on the assembly fixture before any plate is loaded.

Metalworking & forming

High-precision laser cutting, CNC machining and hydraulic forming

Tolerances add up on any dewatering machine: a filter press beam that is 0.5 mm out of flat on a 6-metre machine turns into uneven cake wash and a leaking plate pack downstream — and the same logic applies to belt press tracking, screw press clearances and screen seals. We hold tight on metalworking so the rest of the build is straightforward.

  • Laser cutting & CNC machining. Beams, shafts, frames and support members across all product lines are cut and machined on CNC equipment to keep dimensional tolerances tight.
  • Hydraulic forming. Heavy plate components are formed on calibrated hydraulic presses, not hammered into shape.
  • Surface treatment. Carbon-steel parts are shot-blasted and primed before assembly to give the epoxy coating something to bond to.
  • Material traceability. Steel plates and profiles arrive with mill certificates; batch numbers are recorded against each machine serial.

Assembly & pressure testing

Built around the plate pack, then tested as a unit

A filter press is a hydraulic cylinder, a frame and a stack of plates. We assemble the frame on the floor, hang the plate pack, plumb the hydraulic and feed piping, and then run the machine through a real pressure cycle before it leaves the bay — the same discipline that later applies to belt press tracking runs and screw press gap checks on the same floor.

  • Frame-on-floor assembly. Beams and supports are pre-aligned on the assembly fixture so the closing ram travels straight before plates go on.
  • Hydraulic run-test. Every unit is run through full closing pressure, holding pressure and emergency-release cycles before the plate pack is loaded.
  • Water leak test. Once plates and cloths are mounted, the press is filled with water at operating pressure and checked plate-by-plate for leakage.
  • PLC dry-run. Automatic presses are run through the full cycle on the bench (close, feed, squeeze, wash, cake discharge, cloth wash) before they are signed off.

Plates, cloths & consumables

Consumables on the shelf — plate packs, filter cloths and belts ready to ship

Inventory is the difference between a 4-week delivery and a 12-week delivery. We hold a multi-thousand-piece plate yard, plus filter cloth stock and belt press fabric — so a replacement set for an existing press or belt filter, or a brand-new build, can move into assembly without waiting on raw material.

  • Plate types. Chamber, membrane, plate-and-frame and CGR recarbonization plates in PP, composite rubber and cast iron — same production line.
  • Filter cloths. PP, polyester, nylon, PVDF and PTFE cloths cut to plate size for filter presses, and seamless belts for belt presses — with edge-sealed or stitched finish on request.
  • OEM plates. We manufacture replacement plate packs for most common filter press brands, by drawing or by reverse-engineered sample.
  • Spare parts. Hydraulic seals, squeeze diaphragms, cloth wash nozzles, filter cloth, and PLC consumables kept on the shelf for fast dispatch.

The full product line

Screw presses, bar screens and grinders — on the same floor

Filter presses and belt presses (the welding, machining and assembly sections above) share the workshop with rotary drum filters, multi-disc screw presses, rotary bar screens and twin-shaft channel grinders. All are built, tested and packed on this floor.

From raw plate to dispatch

Five production stages every Loway machine goes through

Whether the order is a single 5 m² chamber press or a complete dewatering line, the path through the workshop is the same. The earlier you engage us, the more of it we can shape around your sludge and your site.

1 · Material Receiving
Steel plate and profiles arrive with mill certificates. Batch numbers are recorded against each machine serial number.
2 · Cutting & Forming
Laser cutting, CNC machining and hydraulic pressing shape beams, frames and supports to drawing tolerances.
3 · Welding
Certified welders handle structural seams; the robotic welding cell runs long members — filter press beams, screw press shafts and drum shells — for consistent penetration.
4 · Assembly
Frame-on-floor build, hydraulic plumbing, plate pack hanging, PLC bench test — done in that order, on the same bay.
5 · Pressure Test & Dispatch
Full-pressure leak test, plate-by-plate inspection, wooden-crate export packing on wooden pallets for container loading.

FAQ

Visiting, auditing and shipping from the Loway factory

Common questions we get from procurement, QA and EPC teams before they book a flight.

Can we visit the Loway factory?

Yes. We host customer visits at our factory by appointment. A typical visit includes a workshop walk-through, a look at the machine being built for your order, and (with sample in hand) a run-test on the bench-scale pilot press. Contact us with your order or shortlist and we will set a date.

Can we do a live video factory tour / audit?

Yes. We run live video walk-throughs on WeChat, WhatsApp or Zoom so you can inspect the workshop, the equipment in production and the finished machine before you travel. It is the same engineering team, the same bay — just on a screen.

What is your typical lead time?

Stock filter plates and filter cloths ship in 7–10 working days. A custom filter press typically ships in 25–45 working days after drawing approval, depending on plate count, automation level and order backlog. A complete dewatering line (screens, presses, conveyors and controls) typically runs 45–90 working days. Ask for a current schedule — we publish the open slots against the production calendar.

Do you accept third-party inspection?

Yes. We regularly host SGS, BV and customer-appointed inspectors for pre-shipment inspection (PSI) in our factory. Tell us which inspector and what test plan to run, and we will schedule it against the build calendar so nothing slips.

What quality standards do you follow?

We manufacture under an ISO 9001 quality management system. Welders are certified to AWS / EN ISO standards, structural welds are visually inspected and NDT-checked where specified, and every machine is pressure-tested and leak-tested before shipment. CE compliance documentation (Declaration of Conformity, technical file) is provided on request for machines shipped into CE-marked jurisdictions.

Do you support OEM filter plates or custom branding?

Yes. We manufacture OEM filter plates and complete filter press assemblies to customer drawings, brand labels and packaging requirements. Send your drawing, your sample plate, or the press serial number you want to match and we will quote against it.

What spare parts are stocked for export?

Standard filter plates, filter cloths, hydraulic seals, squeeze diaphragms, cloth-wash nozzles and PLC consumables are kept on the shelf for fast dispatch worldwide. See the spare parts & service page for the current catalogue, or contact us with your press serial and we will match it against stock.
